Golden Retrievers testimonial for dr. Laura Taylor

“I first started seeing Dr. Taylor with my dogs back in 1997. At that time, I had two golden retrievers, who were 6 and 7 years of age and both performance sport dogs. Laura was primarily doing acupuncture and chiropractic work then.

One of my dogs was mildly dysplastic in one hip and yet as the years went on and with a very active lifestyle, she remained incredibly sound and in fact in her fourteen years with me, she never took a lame step until a month before she died. Her hip was never a problem and I know that a lot of the care we received from Dr. Taylor was paramount to keeping her on the right path.

A golden retriever I acquired as a puppy was a bit pigeon-toed on one rear foot. On her first visit to see Dr. Taylor, she did some osteopathic work on her, and I never saw her move pigeon-toed again!

I know without question that all my dogs will remain on a maintenance program with Dr. Taylor whether they are actively involved in competition or as retired companion dogs. The growth and knowledge that she has acquired and experienced over the years has left me extremely impressed in her talents and ability to keep my dogs physically sound and on track with their busy lives.”

“Dr. Taylor is an incredible therapist. She is more than just a vet. One of my dogs was exhibiting signs of knee problems. We attended our regular vet, who is very good, and the signs were a bit inconclusive. She advised we rest and limit movement for a period of time. Good advice for sure. As soon as we were back to regular activity, he began limping again. We then had the opportunity to see Dr. Taylor! She examined my male dog and proceeded to explain how the problem was not his knee at all, but his hips, due to his neuter procedure. She worked on him, filling me in on what she was doing throughout the treatment and he is doing very well. No more symptoms!

Dr. Taylor’s thoroughness and caring are so genuine when she is working with your animal. She takes as much time as is needed to best serve her client. Her ability to prescribe homeopathic remedies and willingness to refer to other practitioners if something is out of her realm of expertise is truly refreshing. This has helped my other dog immensely! Her patience has also paid off as my second dog, who would not allow any vet to touch her (for a variety of reasons) has now allowed Dr. Taylor to not only touch her, but actually give her a treatment! Something I never thought I would see!

I can’t say enough about this wonderful lady! So very grateful she is willing to travel to our part of the world to care for our animals.”

Great Pyrenees puppy testimonial for Dr Laura Taylor Holistic Vet

“Laura Taylor is amazing! We feel so very fortunate to have found her and her expertise. We have 2 dogs, one of whom has suffered lameness issues since very young, first with his knees and more recently a front end lameness. He is just 3 ½ years old, a Pyrenees /Anatolian Shepherd mix and 135lbs. It was heart breaking so see him start limping again after finally seemingly recovering from issues with his knees (luxating patellas). We initially went the traditional route with a very good vet, taking X-rays and range of motion exams. No specific reason for his lameness found. While we were glad to know it was not something “more serious”, Hugo continued to limp and look and act many years older than his just 3 ½ years. Laura worked on him 3X, we saw results right away. After the first visit the lameness was only noticeable to the most discerning eye; after visits 2 & 3, not only did the lameness go away completely but he began to run and play again like when he was a puppy. Laura initially addressed the issues associated with what she referred to as, “crooked butt syndrome”; her follow up implementing osteopathic and cranial sacral techniques has helped Hugo enjoy his walks, run and play with our other dog like we have not seen in over 2 years. His movement patterns are like never before. She made such a difference, we decided to take our other dog, a mixed breed, 60lbs. and quite naturally athletic. He showed no outward signs of difficulty but did have a slight ‘crookedness’ when running.

Laura worked on Walter just once. He now runs straight as an arrow, and while there was no lameness issues prior, his gait changed as well. He now seems more relaxed in his movements and like Hugo, shows overall improvements in his gait. Our dogs give us great joy, we are quite grateful we have been able to offer them such improvements to their quality of life. Although we live 3 hours from Laura, we will not hesitate to take our dogs in again for maintenance and follow up visits over the years. She has made a HUGE difference in their lives.”
